Phoenix 4 Dubai | Ahmed Labban Debuts, Al Derbani Returns

Phoenix 4 Dubai, which is set to take place at the Dubai World Trade Center on Dec. 22, has announced two notable fighter additions to its end of year card.

A new contender in the lightweight division and one of Lebanon’s top up and coming MMA fighters, Ahmed Labban (3-0 MMA), will make his second appearance under the Phoenix Fighting Championship banner, this time in a lightweight MMA bout.

In a Muaythai contest at Phoenix 2, Labban proved why he is one of the scariest, most unpredictable strikers in the middle east. His flawless victory against Ahmed Ibrahim silenced all who doubted his ability to face and finish legitimate strikers, with his unorthodox strikes and ” Catch me if you can style”.

Now, the London Shootfighter prospect brings out his 4oz gloves and gets ready for his comeback. This three-round bout will mark Labban’s first MMA fight in 15 months since his impressive victory against Abdulla Bushehri in September 2016.

Also joining Labban and 8 other fighters announced is Kingdom Fighters’s Alderbani, (Fighting out of Jordan) who makes his second (MMA) appearance after facing Ashleigh Grimshaw at Phoenix 3 UK vs. The World. His fight against Grimshaw didn’t go as he planned, with the Brit awarded the Unanimous Decision win in London.

Rumor has it that this fight will be a rematch, yet against who of Al derbani’s previous opponents? No information has been disclosed regarding that matter.

Here’s another free fight to re-live the action between Alderbani and Grimshaw at Indigo at the O2.
