In his 2nd fight at Brave CF 10, the Jordanian hometown hero, Nawras Abzakh, scored an aggressive first round finish over his Finnish opponent, IMMAF world champion, Abdul Hussein.
Having previously suffered the 1st defeat of his career at Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions in Bahrain, accepting a fight on short notice and admittedly making a lot of mistakes in the bout, Abzakh was like a man possessed coming into Brave 10: The Kingdom Rises. The Jordanian had a lot to prove, once again fighting in front of his home fans and crowd.
In a short lived fight, Abzakh came out swinging against Abdul Hussein, catching him with a good left hook that almost instantly closed most of his right eye shut. The pressure that Abzakh put on Hussein motivated him to shoot for a takedown in an attempt to neutralize Abzakh. However, Hussein’s attempt turned out to be a major mistake as Abzakh synched up his notorious guillotine choke and lynched an extremely courageous Hussein who fought as hard as he could through the submission. Eventually, Hussein’s body went limp on him as he went to sleep, earning Nawras his victory and a clip that he can add to his highlight reel of fight finishes. It was no doubt one of the choke submissions that we have seen in Mixed Martial Arts competition worldwide.
“The Honey Badger” has a lot of names to do battle against in Brave Combat Federation’s bantamweight division. It would be an interesting to see a rematch against Mlambo if Abzakh could, this time, have a full-training camp to prepare for the potential fight. Meanwhile Mlambo will take on the current champion Stephen Loman, after successfully stopping Felipe Efrain at Brave 10.
