Rumor has it that December 8 will witness Desert Force MMA Championship’s first event in the largest Middle Eastern Arab country, Saudi Arabia. After roaming around Jordan and the gulf region, Desert Force’s 14th installment will be landing in KSA where Al Academiya 2 Finale will be taking place.
The event will also witness two title defenses pitting Saudi’s own Aziz Julaidan against Abdulkareem al Selwady, and the long awaited fight between Mohammad Ghorabi and Aniss al Hajjajy at welterweight.
Aziz Julaidan was slated to fight title holder AbdulKareem al Selwady in Desert Force’s first ever featherweight title defense at Desert Force Bahrain, however as this fight got closer and the training got more intense, Julaidan injured his knee and was forced to withdraw.
Welterweight Champion Aniss Al Hajjajy and winner of Al Academiya welterweight title Mohamad Ghorabi were originally set to face off in Desert Force 12 in a welterweight title fight that was canceled following immigration issues for Hajjajy. His challenger Mohamad Ghorabi (3-0) fought a non-title fight on the main card against Bechir Majri whom he managed to batter ferociously. Ghorabi showed off his usual aggressive striking game hurling himself in at Majri, and with big effect as usual.
