Injury strikes for the third time, smashing yet another main fight on Desert Force Egypt fight card. The Al Academiya Season 3 welterweight title was on the line with Moroccan Othman Najae facing Lebanon’s Ahmad Labban. Less than 3 days to fight night, the Moroccan sends a short clip to ArabsMMA announcing a broken hand which you can see in the video below. What a loss for this card.
Othman, a calm young fighter who was part of the blue team headed by Mhammad Karaki earned 2 wins before reaching the finals of Al Academiya Season three. With his remarkable reach, boxing and Jiu Jitsu experience he had the better odds of winning this one according to Mhammad Karaki.
“I feel sorry for Othman, I believe he can be a true force in the Welterweight division” says Karaki.
This is the second fight to be scrapped from Desert Force 19. The co-main event of the evening was a heated title fight between the current Welterweight champion Mounir “SNIPER” Lazzez and the #1 contender Jarrah Alselawi. Jarrah encountered back problems and was forced to withdrawal. As the promotion was looking for someone worthy of facing the champ, a recurring injury puts Lazzez out of the picture.
The card still has some interesting bouts with a one of a kind main event, let’s just hope the fighters lay low and take a break in the next 3 days.
