Fans React To Jarrah Al Selawi Joining Brave CF

”Jarrah Al Selawi completed his contract with Desert Force, he did not accept the Desert Force deal in the new negotiations and decided to pursue his career elsewhere.”

These words from Taher Hamdan, confirming the departure of one of their biggest star, who rocked the world of Mixed Martial Arts in the Middle East and drew an emotional response from fans, who resoundingly back the Jordanian star’s move to Brave Combat Federation.

Al Silawi (7-2) famously submitted the Desert Force star Mohammed Fakhreddine and still to this day hold the only defeat on his record. He has gone on to become a major player in the promotion, finishing most of his opponents convincingly and displaying devastating skills on the mat, particularly with the Kimura submission which has proved very effective for him. He used it to finish Fakhreddine in Desert Force 16 and then again in Desert Force 24 upon the then undefeated Rami Hamed, who many thought would get the better of “The Jordanian Lion” Al Silawi.

Now he has decided to part ways with the organization where he made his name, and when this was announced by Arabs MMA on Facebook, the response from fans was overwhelmingly in the fighter’s favor and some leveled criticism at Desert Force for their perceived mistreatment of fighters.

Some fans believe that the biggest stars deserve better purses in Desert Force, the organization which has been going over ten years and is about to have its 25th televised show.

One fan commented:

“If Desert Force doesn’t treat and follow up with its main fighters, MBC channel will probably not renew their deal with them.”

Another fan applauded the move, which many see as a great career move and natural progression for the Arab superstar.

They said:

“Every fighter should do such a move, it’s normal, they train and have to deal with the struggles of fighting. They should be able to seek every other opportunity.”

Al Silawi is expected to make his debut for Brave Combat Federation on December 2nd in Bahrain for Brave 2: Dynasty.
