ICFC- Iraqi Combat Fighting Championship officials have planned an event for the 1st of March that would mark the promotion’s fourth installment.
ICFC 4 promises to be stacked and could feature 3 title fights to crown the first Iraqi MMA Champions in Lightweight, Welterweight, and Middleweight divisions! Lightweight prospect Yaser “The Crazy Man” Zaid (3-1), and Ammar Jassem Welterweight, were in Jordan earlier training at Makhaii Gym, with Instructor Ashraf Shishani getting ready! Now the reason is clearer. Could any of them be the First Iraqi MMA champ?
Also on the Iraqi CFC 4 card is Iraqi Muay Thai champ and Arab Kyokushin champ Mohamad “Tiger” Imad. The night will also feature first time amateur fighters for the aim of scouting and uncovering raw young talent.
All we could hope for until then is that the political situation in the country remains stable. Sectarian violence has plagued the country for a number of years and the organizers will not risk any breach in the safety of its fighters, staff and audience. They seem to also have found sponsorship so there should be no delays in the event due to a lack of support.
