This February, Desert Force heads to Abu Dhabi, UAE for a Fight Night card headlined by lightweight number one contender, Mohammad Yahya, and Kuwaiti opponent, Ahmad Al Boussairy. It promises to be either a coming out party for Al Boussairy or another feather in the cap for Yahya as he pushes for a title shot.

Yahya’s latest fight against Ali Al Naemi was more of a battle as verbal scuffles between the two started way before the fight. This time, Yahya seems to look at things differently as he faces Kuwait’s humble fighter Al Boussairy.

“Boussairy seems like a nice respectful appointment this time should be fun fight and a great one to watch. I don’t mind fighting anyone to get to the title, it doesn’t matter who. I am in the best shape of my life and I can’t wait to get in the cage at Desert Force 15.”

Yahya did get the hometown advantage in that fight, staying in the game and respectively turning the tables on Al Naemi in the second round. According to Ali, he came into this fight injured and this injury struck again half way through the bout. After being unable to make it through into the third round, he promptly called out Yahya for an immediate rematch. Yet, this story has a different twist from Yahya’s perspective.

“It’s nice to be fighting in my home down again, but when we setup in the cage it’s just me and him. I think Ali doesn’t deserve a rematch next because he had one more round to come back but he gave up. I am aiming for the title.”
