A middleweight match-up has been added to the Phoenix 6 Abu Dhabi fight card, featuring Mostafa Rashed and Sadibou Sy who will both be making their Phoenix debut.
“Sadibou Sy (6-2-0) fighting out of Stockholm, Sweden and the #10th ranked Middleweight in Europe will face the Arab Champion Mostafa Rashed in “Phoenix 6 Abudhabi” April 5.”
As Yerevanian stated on his Facebook page, Sadibou Sy is officially ranked #10 Middleweight fighter in the Nordic region of Europe. Sy (6-2-0) is all business coming into Phoenix and seems to have the hype and arsenal that could pose a serious threat to the middleweight division. Fighting out of Stockholm, Sy has a strong background in kickboxing and Muay Thai. He is able to deliver devastating punches and kicks to his opponents and has already ended 4 of his fights by doing so. Training at WASA Kickboxing, he will make his Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) debut in the Middle East region when Phoenix lands in Abu Dhabi. Yet, he will have a long list of opponents to take out if he is even considering the idea of making a run for the Phoenix Middleweight gold.
Usually fighting as a Light-Heavyweight, it seems like Mostafa Rashed (4-2-0) will once again drop down to a weight class that he fought at a long time ago. The former Desert Force Light-Heavyweight champ is now finally making his Phoenix debut, after his hiatus from Mixed Martial Arts action for over a year. This is an existing piece of news to a lot of fans. We can expect that the former champion has used his time very intelligently, improving his game in all aspects as he looks to take out an extremely tough opponent standing in his path.
Mostafa has notable wins over Elias Baaklini and Osama Al Seady. Al Seady was also signed to Phoenix and will take on Sami Antar in Abu Dhabi. Could this lead to the first trilogy in Middle Eastern MMA ?
Phoenix 6 Abu Dhabi will take place on the 5th of April. Stay tuned for the full fight card to be officially released soon.
