Nawras “The Honey Badger” Abzakh, the first bantamweight champion in Desert Force history will fight at Desert Force 25, and he’ll go from one big challenge to another.
Abzakh was crowned champion when he faced his country boy Jalal Al Daaja at the latest Desert Force 24 event, winning via armbar submission.
Now riding a five-fight winning streak, undefeated Nawras Abzakh has 5 out of 8 career wins by 1st round submission (amateur/pro). The Jordanian has clearly manifested that he has what it takes lead the ranks of this division.
On December 19, Abzakh will take on Brazil’s Aldir Ramos. The fight will take place at 61 Kg, but Abzakh’s title will not be on the line.
In a chat with ArabsMMA, the confident Jordanian sent out a strong message to Ramos, forewarning him about standing in his way, on his land.
“My opponent at Desert Force 25, Aldir Ramos Junior, is a Jiu Jitsu world champion and black belt. The Brazilians are coming to Jordan to fight me in my homeland, among my family, friends, and teammates… My people. When the door of the cage is closed, I will show him what my Combat Sambo can do against his BJJ, I will rip his head off in a legal way. “Aldir Ramos Junior”… You will not face one Jordanian; you are set up to face 6 million Jordanians. You will not stand in my way to become the first fighter from the Middle East to get a contract with the UFC. Mark my words.”
Aldir Ramos is coming off a loss in his last fight. Yet, his Jiujitsu is top level and all three of his wins came by way of submission. Fans would have expected a different kind of match-up for the newly crowned champion. However, this guy cannot be ruled out of this fight. Duly, the Brazilian will surely showcase some dangerous BJJ in an attempt to win this battle.
Desert Force 25 takes place Monday December 19 in Amman, Jordan. The main card will be broadcasted live on MBC Action.
