It seems that no one will be facing the champ at the Desert Force 19 co-headliner as Mounir Lazzez posted the above photo of himself on social media fresh-off a surgery to his arm.
Following Jarrah Al Selawe’s injury a few weeks back, this is the last thing that Desert Force fans needed. The Sniper’s title defense has been struck down yet again, as Lazzez won’t fight at all due to an arm injury suffered in training. This crack was originally announced after his latest title fight against Mohammad Ghorabi. Lazzez earned the shield that night after a back and forth battle for the books.
According to his doctor, Mounir suffered a crack breaching one cortex at the site of the previous fracture and surgery was required.
The Lazzez/Selawe scrap was slated to be Desert Force 19′s co-headliner. As things stand now, the fights locked down for the main card are Mohammad Ouji vs Osama Saidi (2-0) in Desert Force, Welterweight ( 77kgs ) Al-Academiya finalists Ahmed Labban vs Otman Najae, and the Middleweight ( 84kgs ) Al-Academiya Finalists Abdelrahman Dridi vs Ala’a Mansour.
In addition, the live card will be headlined by a historical title fight pitting Al-Academiya coaches in one final battle; as Desert Force middleweight Champion Ibrahim El Sawi faces the challenger, former light heavyweight champ Mohammad Karaki.
This event will take place in Cairo, on December 7th at the Shooting Club 6th October (next to mall of Arabia), indoor Stadium.
