Phoenix Fighting Championship has announced another blockbuster battle on their MMA card. The fight pits two thrilling, bruising middleweight fighters against each-other as the veteran Moise “Swamp” Rimbon (22-10) takes on the up-and-coming Bruno “Blindado” Silva (15-5).
The MMA card is headlined by a title fight between BJJ standout Davi Ramos Vs Nick Piedmont. The event will be aired on LBC international.
This fight is a blockbuster for many reasons, firstly it features an MMA legend in Moise Rimbon. The French Muay Thai tank has been fighting elite competition since the year 2000, with some notable names on his resume such as Alistair Overeem and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. Phuket Top Team’s pride and joy, at the age of 35, is in the best form of his life having won eight out of his last nine fights. His recent wins displayed his devastating arsenal of weapons, such as his last victory against Hoon Kim, where he dismantled the Korean veteran with his Muay Thai then finished him on the ground with a Kimura.
Then there was his previous victim Eun Soo Kim, who landed a flying knee upon Rimbon, took his back, only for “Swamp” to wriggle out of it, grab his leg and sink in an incredible knee-bar. In this fight he demonstrated his versatility and perseverance. This man can finish a fight from anywhere and he’s on a mission.
Standing across the cage from “Swamp” will be an opponent who has been tearing apart the scene in Brazil. Silva has racked up ten straight victories, eight via knockout and at the age of 27 is truly entering his prime. Why is “Blindado” undefeated in the last four years? He’s a tall, strong, imposing middleweight who possesses high-level Muay Thai striking. Considering he has the strength advantage in almost every fight, he’s quite willing to take a few shots in order to land his own. “Blindado” has lethal kicks, much like “Swamp”, and has a long reach which he uses to his advantage, often swinging shots in from all angles which land upon the skull of his bewildered opponents. We haven’t seen “Blindado” land a single submission in his career and if the fight goes to the ground, Swamp may hold the aces. However, whenever “Blindado” goes to the ground his freakish strength enables him to stand right back up.
Quite simply, this is a battle between two high-caliber middleweight killers and will be a fascinating one to watch on December 10th.
