Phoenix Championship Debut Event Proves Big Success

THE interviews were done, the press conferences concluded, the face-offs finished, and the weigh-ins completed. The only thing left was to fight. And Phoenix Championship Muay Thai and MMA stars put on a show for the sold-out crowd at the Nohad Nawfal Arena in Beirut as they delivered a back-and-forth, all-action clash to the fans.

The promotion’s historic debut in Lebanon was an unprecedented sports experience in the Middle East and a complete success, anchored by world class Muay Thai legend, Buakaw Banchamek, delivering an unforgettable spectacle. Phoenix ONE took place Saturday December 10, 2016 and was broadcasted live on LBC (Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation). The international line-up saw fighters from the United States, Brazil, Lebanon, France, Ukraine, Belgium, Syria, Russia, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Jordan, Palestine, Egypt, and Guinea. Headlining the event was Muay Thai legend Buakaw Banchamek who outclassed Andrei Kulebin to claim the Muay Thai championship belt. In the MMA headliner, Davi Ramos similarly outperformed Nick Piedmont to win the MMA championship.
