Phoenix 4 in Dubai is shaping up heavy, with an inaugural light-heavyweight championship title fight added today.
Two international MMA veterans of the sport, Moise Rimbon (Fighting out of France) and Pavel Doroftei (Fighting out of UK), will meet for the chance to become the first Phoenix MMA light-heavyweight world champion at the Dec. 22 event, which takes place at Dubai World Trade Center.
The headlining bout features the Middle Eastern welterweight super start Mounir Lazzez as he returns back to action against Christophe Van Dijck.
RIMBON
Having fought against the likes of Alistair Overeem and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Moise “Swamp” Rimbon, 36, has seen it all in mixed martial arts. Holding a professional record of 24-11-3, and having fought all over the world, Rimbon is no stranger to Phoenix Fighting Championship. He made his promotional debut at Phoenix’s first event (Phoenix 1) in Lebanon, defeating Bruno Silva and returned at Phoenix 3 in London against Omoyele, delivering an entertaining performance and snatching submission victories on both occasions.
Representing Team Nogueira Dubai, this will be his chance to crown it all and grab the Phoenix light-heavyweight championship title in the promotion he seems to have grown fond of in recent history.
DOROFTEI
Pavel Doroftei is a tough competitor for the title and a serious rival to the Frenchman Rimbon. With a record of 19-4-0, Doroftei is what you call a FINISHER! 16 career finishes, 12 of which by way of submission, Doroftei is one to watch, especially if he is able to grab a hold of his opponent’s leg for submission. This will be his 2nd fight under Phoenix Fighting Championship, after having seized an early 1st round submission victory at Phoenix 3 London when he took on Saulo Cavalari. London Shootfighter’s Doroftei trusts his level of expertise and will confidently be looking to upset Rimbon’s night by crushing his title hopes.
Phoenix 4 will take place in Dubai on Friday the 22nd of December at the Dubai Trade Center. Make sure you do not miss this bout for the first ever Phoenix Fighting Championship light-heavyweight title.
