The heavyweights are coming to Phoenix 6 Abu Dhabi as the Russian/Lebanese juggernaut Roman Wehbe will be taking the Desert Force champion, Amin Nacheb.
Coming in as a late replacement opponent for Amin Nacheb, in his rematch fight against Yousef Abu Shreekh at Phoenix 4 in Dubai, Roman Wehbe (7-6-0) made his Phoenix debut by grabbing an impressive 1st round victory that instantly made him a serious Heavyweight force and contender in the region. In his fight at Phoenix 4 Dubai, Wehbe showed a lot of skills in the aspects of striking, wrestling and ground work, overwhelming his opponent and forcing the referee to call an end to the contest at only 1 minutes and 54 seconds of the first round. However, he now looks to face a much different and more versatile opponent in his next Heavyweight match-up.
Having been previously scheduled to take on Yousef Abu Shreekh in a rematch, Nacheb (3-1-0) was obliged to pull himself out of the Phoenix 4 Dubai fight card due to visa issues, and consequently postpone his Phoenix debut. Now, he faces the man who, like himself, also grabbed a win over Abu Shreekh. Though the former Desert Force Heavyweight champion hasn’t fought since 2016, he knows very well that a victory over Wehbe will get him very close to a Heavyweight title fight that we all sense coming in the near future at Phoenix. Nacheb is especially skilled in the striking area, but don’t under estimate his ground game, having already grabbed 2 submission victories in his career. Since both Wehbe and Nacheb like to bring it on, it will be interesting to see what happens in this heavy duty match up.
