Tragic news has recently struck the Arab mixed martial arts community. Sadly, the region has lost a young and promising Moroccan talent, the former Albatal reality show participant, Saad Tadlaoui.
Unexpectedly passing away at only 31 years of age, the reasons for Tadlaoui’s death are still not confirmed, however, his family claims that it was due to food poisoning.
Tadlaoui has not fought since 2013, with his last fight being on the Albatal reality show against Georges Eid from Lebanon, losing a unanimous decision to the Lebanese who eventually became a finalist before suffering a unanimous decision loss against of the Jordanian fighter Thabet Agha in the last match of the show.
Tadlaoui was still actively practicing the mixed martial arts and investing the time he could into gradually improving his skill set in order to become a better competitor. It is doubtlessly a huge loss for the Arab world which will not get the opportunity witness him compete again and draw his path into becoming a top athlete in the sport. We share our condolences to his friends and family who are mourning his loss and hope that he is a better place.
