It’s official! The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has inked Moroccan cage star Abu Azaitar (13-1-1). The welterweight is expected to make his debut with the promotion later this year, possibly at the September 2nd UFC Fight Night in Rotterdam.
His opponent is yet to be announced. However, Azaitar has recently challenged Hector Lombard for the UFC Rotterdam event on his official Instagram account, and he is now 10 steps closer to achieving his goal!
For Azaitar, signing with the UFC would seem as the most instrumental step-up on his career ladder. The 30 year old is on an eight-fight unbeaten streak. Overall, eight of his 13 wins are by stoppage with seven coming by knockout or TKO.
His only loss came due a stoppage from a cut, and it is worth noting too that he avenged it with a knockout.
In his latest appearences, he fought twice at WSOF where he won both of his fights.
Known for his explosive and dangerous fighting style, Azaitar is surely an exciting addition to the UFC roster. The guy is seasoned, skillful, extremely comical, and has a huge following in Germany and in the Middle East.
