2023 IMMAF Asian Championships Preview


Fresh off the historic 2023 IMMAF World Championships in Tirana, Albania, anticipation is soaring for the upcoming 2023 IMMAF Asian Championships.

This landmark event, working in partnership with BRAVE Combat Federation, is poised to deliver an unforgettable spectacle, solidifying its place as the most significant amateur MMA event on the continent.

In conjunction with the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Federation, the competition will mark the first-ever continental IMMAF Championships to feature not only Senior and Junior divisions, but also all three Youth brackets. Expect to witness the return of familiar faces from the 2023 IMMAF Youth World Championships, including trailblazers like Zamzam and Ghala Al Hammadi (UAE), who etched their names in the UAE’s history books as the first female IMMAF champions. Joining them is Saif Alblooshi, another 2023 Youth gold medallist, underlining the United Arab Emirates’ commitment to nurturing amateur MMA talent at the grassroots level.

Scheduled to unfold from December 10-16 as part of the BRAVE CF International Combat Week, the 2023 IMMAF Asian Championships will be a focal point for discovering the next generation of Asian MMA stars. Simultaneously, BRAVE CF will present a pathway to professional MMA stardom, hosting three events in Bahrain and an additional one in Brazil. Noteworthy matchups include an all-IMMAF title fight featuring Jose Torres and Nkosi Ndebele, as well as the likes of surging future stars Ramazan GitinovSabrina de Sousa, and Rasul Magomedov.

A quick turnaround awaits some of the standout performers from the 2023 IMMAF World Championships, with athletes like Gadzhi Gadziev and Sultan Gapizov, both crowned as 2023 IMMAF Senior World Champions, set to showcase their skills once again. Their sensational performances in Albania have perfectly set the stage for a stunning display of talent and martial arts prowess.


IMMAF includes the following Asian nations, among others: Afghanistan, Bahrain, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan Chinese Taipei, Tajikistan, UAE, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam. Together, they form a boiling pot of diverse martial arts styles, promising an electrifying competition that will reflect the rich cultural and athletic heritage of the continent.
