Abu Dhabi Professional Jiu Jitsu Championship, the largest Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu event in the world, will come out to be a successful event once again this year. More than 700 competitors from 50 different countries including the UAE, Australia, Brazil, China, New Zealand, South Africa, South Korea have enrolled to participate in fifth staging of the championship. The championship starts with the one-day World Jiu-Jitsu Children’s Cup on April 10, followed by the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship (April 11-13) and will air exclusively live on Abu Dhabi Sport TV.
This free-to-spectate event features the largest money prizes in history of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments. The main award of the competition is in the Black Belt open weight division which will this year have the highest ever cash prize: $35,000.
Local interest will focus on UAE Jiu-Jitsu champions brown belt Faisal Fahad Al Ketbi, blue belt Ahmed Mosa Al Nuaimi, seniors purple belt Abdullah Al Ketbi, and female blue belt Shamsa Hassa, who have secured five gold medal’s in last year’s event.
