May 24th will witness the comeback of coach Mohamed Abdel Hamid who will take part in the co-main event feartherweight division of Super Fight League (SLF 18) after an injury that kept him away from the MMA scene for almost a year. This name might sound familiar for a lot of fight fans in the Arab region, Abdel Hamid is Egyptian Top Team’s head instructor who is behind the success of a lot of Egyptian MMA fighters (Amir Esmail, Amr Wahmann, Totti Malek)
Mohamed Abdel Hamid lost his MMA debut Via Rear-Naked Choke submission which forced him to tap against undefeated promotional veteran Lakhwinder Singh.
He will face Phillip “the Gladiator” Schranz (12-7) who is entering this fight with 2 back to back losses and will want to break this winning streak by defeating Hamid.
Much difference between both fighters when it comes to cage fighting experience, But Mohamed has trained a lot of Egyptian champions who competed internationally and is not stranger to international competitions. The thought of fighting someone with a big of a record as Schranz shows the Egyptians big heart and love for the sport. Any performance will be an honorable one and I promise you that both fighters will go at it from the start.
