Desert Force’s five-year partnership with MBC Action has allegedly concluded this year. Since December 2012, Desert Force has broadcasted 20 fight nights on MBC Action. It was a deal that changed the profile of Desert Force, bringing MMA to the major broadcast network in the Middle East.
The news comes as no surprise to fighters and stakeholders as the groundwork for the upcoming Desert Force event has been put on ice. Desert Force 26 was scheduled for the 26th of February, yet, fighters are still left with no confirmation, and no official announcement has been released from the promotion’s end.
These happenings certainly substantiate the flying rumors of Desert Force parting ways with its TV broadcast partner, MBC Action.
And as time runs out, the promotion’s owners are in the talks to get a deal with a different major Sports channel, a source close to Desert Force management has leaked the news.
The new TV would mark the second time Desert Force partners with a new broadcast network, and the first time they collaborate with a sports dedicated TV.
Nobody in the know is willing confirm the report or make a statement yet, but sources with an ear on the negotiations report that Desert Force found a new television home for its hours of sports programming.
No official statement was released by Desert Force or MBC yet.
