A gripping battle of the grapplers will take place at the inaugural Brave Combat Federation premier show, Brave 1, on September 23rd, pitting Egypt’s Ahmed “The Butcher” Amir (5-1) against Richie “The Boogryman” Martinez (3-1).
This fascinating match-up will be The Butcher’s biggest test by far, as he takes on the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Eddie Bravo. Amir has been training with WarLions Team in Kuwait and is on a blistering run of victories by submission.
Martinez won his first three MMA fights via submission and has been competing on the highest levels of grappling circuit.
The Boogeyman is famous in the JiuJitsu world and is one of the “Freak Brothers” alongside his brother Gio.
He is a master of ground warfare, with all his MMA wins coming by way of submission. For the last two years he has competed only in grappling matches, amassing a 13-6 record since his last MMA fight.
“ The Butcher “ must be wary of taking the fight to the ground against the Jiu-Jitsu wizard, who particularly loves to catch his opponents in his preferred submission – the Japanese Necktie. Will Amir decide to put his own very accomplished grappling to the test against this JiuJitsu master? After all, he’s won his last four fights by submission culminating in an impressive first round victory of Youness Mikiss.
It’s going to be an enthralling spectacle and highlights what Brave CEO Mohammad Shahid has said – that he will bring the world’s best martial artists over to the middle-east and give opportunities to the homegrown fighters to make a name for themselves around the world.
