A few days ago, Argentinian football legend Diego Armando Maradona sent a supporting message for Brave fighter Ottman Azaitar. Azaitar had recently signed with the truly global promotion as announced on ArabsMMA.com. The Moroccan was confirmed to be fighting on the December card. Yet, his opponent was yet to be revealed.
In the video shared on social media, Maradona appears alongside Abu Bakr Azaitar, Ottman’s elder brother. The two have met ahead of the Green March Anniversary gala match game in Morocco.
Now, Azaitar is set to face Maradona’s fellow countryman Kevin Koldobsky at Brave 2: Dynasty main card, on December 2nd, in Bahrain.
Brave 2 officially announced the bout last Tuesday, November 18. After suffering a decision loss to Eldar Eldarov on Brave 1, in September, the welterweight Koldobsky will make a quick comeback. Despite losing to Eldarov at Brave 1, he showed a warriors heart in defending the onslaught of Eldarov, who was unable to finish Koldobsky.
That put Koldobsky in an elite bracket because Eldarov had previously finished every single one of his victims via submission. That performance from Koldobsky, despite it being such a tough night for him, earned him a lot of respect and Brave Combat Federation have invited him back for another bite of the cherry.
Azaitar, in turn, will make his debut for Brave Combat Federation, after becoming one of the most popular fighters in both Northern Africa and Europe, thanks to his Moroccan-German nationality.
Diego Maradona is known as one of the most iconic Argentinians of all time, and a man who carried the country’s flag around the world, being literally considered a divine figure for some of his fellow countrymen.
Will he keep his position and support Ottman Azaitar or change sides and backup Koldobsky on December 2nd?
