No MMA? No problem mister minister. Not only were Lebanese combat promotions agile enough to smoothly carry on with their months-in-the-making events, but it seems that fighters are ready to do whatever it takes to get around the restraining regulations and continue doing what they do best.
MMA standout and fan favorite Mohammad Ghorabi will still take part of Phoenix 2 Championship, but this time, he will be entertaining the crowds under Muay Thai rules.
Seriously, haven’t we all wondered and wished to witness some these thrilling MMA fighters not having to worry about being taken down, and actually trade blows in a full-on striking bout?
And yet, Muay Thai is no stranger to the hard hitting Mohammad Ghorabi. Throughout his progression, Ghorabi has fought Muay Thai fights on the local Lebanese scene, engaged in Kyokushin on international grounds, and is considered one of the most versatile and ferocious strikers out there.
Ghorabi will face Britains’s David Willmott. Willmot is a 4 time K1/Muay Thai champion, holding English, British, European and Intercontinental ISKA belts. He brings a ton of striking experience to the Phoenix ring with a superb clinching technique accompanied but an aggressive style.
It’s a double treat for fight fans in Lebanon! Their esteemed MMA striker fighting under Muay Thai rules.
