The Brave 12 main event witnessed an outstanding and overwhelming display by Eldar Eldarov over 3 rounds against his opponent, Brian Hooi.
Brave 12 “KHK Legacy” took place Friday May 11, 2018, in Jakarta, Indonesia. The event aired on Abu Dhabi Sports, StarSat, Vodacom, Combate, and iNews TV.
Right from the beginning, Eldarov takes advantage of Hooi’s southpaw stance, landing a heavy inside low kick. Hooi remains patient, feinting his punches and landing a few straight lefts to Eldarov’s body. A missed kick by Hooi is capitalized upon by Eldarov who shoots in and takes him down with his superior grappling skills. Eldarov’s almost super human strength is impressive, dominating Hooi in the wrestling game for the rest of the round while landing some strikes from the top.
Eldarov opens the 2nd round with a couple of extremely heavy leg kicks that land. The kicks take their toll as Hooi slips and looks to be injured. As Eldarov dives into his opponent’s guard, Hooi attempts to go for an armbar, but it’s to no avail. Eldarov finds his rhythm and pressures Hooi from the top, controlling Hooi for the entire round while pounding away.
A valiant and injured Hooi makes the walk in the 3rd round, still intent on fighting with a busted knee. Eldarov opens up with his striking and starts finding a home for a lot of his shots. Hooi drops down to the mat on a couple of occasions, unable to put weight on his lead leg, but Eldarov steps away obliging him to stand back up. Eventually, Eldarov puts buckles his hands around Hooi’s waist and starts to rag doll him for pretty much the rest of the round.
Though Eldarov delivered a Mixed Martial Arts clinic, Hooi showcased some admirable values of will and courage, making the long journey all the way to the end of the fight even through carrying such a serious performance halting injury.
Eldar Eldarov defeats Brain Hooi via unanimous decision.
