ABU DHABI LEGENDS READY TO FIGHT AT ADWPJJC 2017

Friday, April 21, 2017 – Abu Dhabi, UAE: The 9th edition of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship will host the second annual Abu Dhabi World Legends showdown on Saturday 22nd April at the IPIC Arena as part of the Championship, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

In front of a packed cheering crowd at Town Square, Yas Mall, the Abu Dhabi Legends weighed-in ahead of their fights. All ten Jiu-Jitsu icons, both current and retired, expressed their excitement about battling it out on the mat for five gold belts in the ultimate clash of talent.

Tomorrow fights will take place between Bantamweight legends Wellington “Megaton” Dias (Brazil) and Helio “Soneca” Moreira (Brazil); Lightweight legends Alexandre “Soca” Freitas (USA) and Baret Yoshida (USA); Welterweight legends Kenny Florian (USA) and Vitor “Shaolin” Ribeiro (Brazil); Middleweight legends Amaury Bitetti (Brazil) and Roberto “Spider” Traven (USA); and Heavyweight legends Marcio “Pe de Pano” Cruz (Brazil) and Gabriel “Napao” Gonzaga (Brazil).

Location: IPIC Arena, Zayed Sports City

Time: Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship will begin at 11am, organisers are encouraging spectators to arrive on time as they expect the IPIC Arena to be extremely busy on the final day of the Championship.
