Both Al Academiya Season 2 fighters, bantamweight Georges Bardawil from Tristar Gym Lebanon and featherweight Ghaleb Harahshe from Team Mirza Jordan snatched their finales last December at Decert Force 14, finishing their fights by submission.
We have further seen Georges Bardawil in action at Desert Force 16, brutally handling Ahmed Makki with an up kick TKO which brought him one step closer to being crowned as Desert Force’s first bantamweight champion.
Ghaleb Harahshe, who is primarily a wrestler and a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioner, has been training very hard in order to pave his way as a serious contender in the DF featherweight division. With a good reputation as a decent grappler and a military mind set, Harahshe is bound to put on quite entertaining match-ups in this division.
It’s only a matter of time now before the Jordanian receives his test in the Desert Force featherweight division. Similar to Al Academiya Season 1 participants who fought for the title, such as Mohammad Ghorabi, and similar to the members who made it all the way to winning the title, the likes of Tarek Hamdi and Mohammad Triki, both Al Academia Season 2 winners, Bardawil and Harahshe, are odds-on title holders as well.
Desert Force 17 will see Ghaleb headlining the event in his hometown when he faces Hamza Kooheji from Bahrain. This is the first test that comes his way after winning Al Academiya Season 2 submitting Yaser Zaid in a what turned out to be one of the best Desert Force fight night to date.
