It’s always great to have a rematch and we just got one!
Added to the Phoenix Fighting Championship 4 (Phoenix 4) fight card is a rematch between the Jordanian fighter Izzedine Al Derbani (6-1 MMA, 0-1 Phoenix) and Siyovush Gulmamadov (1-1 MMA) from Tajikistan.
Phoenix 4 Dubai will be headlined by a welterweight battle that marks Mounir Lazzez’s comeback when he meets Christophe Van Dijck. Also, the Phoenix MMA inaugural light heavyweight title is on the line when Moise Rimbon takes on Pavel Doroftei in a high level battle of veterans.
These fighters have previously competed at Desert Force 24 in Abu Dhabi last year with the bout ending via a 2nd round disqualification loss for Gulmamadov which resulted from kicking Al Derbani in the head while he was on the ground.
In his last fight at Phoenix 3: UK vs. The World, Al Derbani’s long run winning streak was broken, suffering his first ever sour tasting professional loss in (MMA) mixed martial arts. He faced Ashleigh Grimshaw in a heated match up which had a great build up, yet Grimshaw was the victor on that night.

Gulmamadov has not been as busy as his opponent. Since he faced Izzedine back in Sept. 2016, he fought once at Hard Knox Fight Night Round 5 where he defeated Juares Dea with a razor close split decision.
This rematch with Gulmamadov offers Al Derbani a much wanted opportunity to jump back on the winning horse. His opponent, however, is seeking to represent his team (Team Nogueira Dubai) and wipe his unfortunate disqualification loss from his record through landing a fair victory.
Phoenix 4 Dubai fight card is filled with high profile names and big fights. Dubai World Trade Center will witness an intense event on the 22nd of December.
