Germany’s Alan Omer picked up arguably the biggest victory of his career when he stopped Gesias Cavalcante with punches in the main card of Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions. And the Lightweight contender’s career-defining performance hasn’t gone unnoticed as he was challenged by one of the last men to defeat him.
Jim Alers bested Omer with a split decision back in April of 2014 and wants another go at his former victim, who’s riding a three-fight win streak and has two wins with Brave Combat Federation.
When asked by a fan on his Instagram profile if he wanted another shot at Omer, Alers said “he was always down for a scrap”, opening the doors for a rematch, this time inside the Brave cage.
Alan Omer has been on a tear since joining the promotion, winning both fights for Brave, in two tough challenges. First, the German contender bested former UFC fighter Robbie Peralta, by submission due to a rear-naked choke, and then he spoiled JZ’s promotional debut, with a third-round KO in a very hotly-contested fight.
After losing to Alers, Omer has fought four times, winning his last three, while “Fight Jim” lost two and had a No Contest against veteran Cole Miller. Alers hasn’t fought since July of 2016.
