Armenia’s Armen Grigoryan Faces Xie Wei at Phoenix 2 in Beirut

The lineup for Phoenix Championship’s second event in Beirut continues to grow with the addition of another rousing fight. Not only will the promotion lend the crowds in Lebanon an entertaining evening of action, but CEO Chahe Yerevanian has made it a point that the Armenian fans get their own treat!

Veteran Armenian fighter Armen Grigoryan will be stepping into the ring against Xie Wei from China as they battle it off for the WMC Inter-Continental title. Phoenix officials announced the new booking this week.

Armen Grigoryan is a kickboxing World Champion and 5 time Muay Thai National Champion of Armenia. He has fought in Spain, Russia, and Thailand under the World Muay Thai Federation and will be representing Armenia in front of a huge crowd of Lebanese/Armenian supporters who will make their way to the Nouhad Nawfal Stadium on April 29.

His opponent, Xie Wei who hails from China, has experienced huge success in his recent outings. The 21 year old has been approved by the World Muay Thai Council as a qualified fighter for the WMC – intercontinental belt (Asia). Wei has earned the 67Kg I-1 World Muay Thai Championship and Top King World Series Nanchang belts in 2017, before moving on to win the MAX Muay Thai title in Thailand this year.
