Cage Warriors Fighting Championship returns to Amman, Jordan on Friday October 25 to stage CWFC Fight Night 9 at King Hussein Boxing Arena. “Logistical issues” have forced the promotion to switch things up for Cage Warriors Fight Night 9, and the event now will take place in Jordan, instead of Bahrain.
Cage Warriors CEO Graham Boylan stated to MMAJunkie.com :
We were extremely excited about bringing Cage Warriors back to Bahrain again, but a few logistical problems have unfortunately arisen, which meant that staging the event to Cage Warriors’ usual high standards wasn’t going to be possible.. As a result, rather than canceling the event entirely and leaving our athletes on the card without fights to prepare for, we’ve been able to organize – despite the short notice – for CWFC Fight Night 9 to take place in Jordan, instead. We’ve had some fantastic shows there already, and this one will be no different. I want to offer my apologies to the Cage Warriors fans in Bahrain, but we’ll do everything we can to get back there as early as possible in 2014.
Cage Warriors first visited Amman in June 2011 and has been back three times since then. Cage Warriors Fight Night 7 took place in Jordan’s capital city in September 2012 and featured the finals of the middleweight title tournament, which was won by Chris Fields against Pavel Kusch.
Fighting that night will be Moroccan Faycal Hucin who’s won two straight and seven of his past eight. Most recently he scored a first-round submission victory over Antoni Chmielewski at Cage Warriors Fight Night 8.
He will be facing Che Mills (15-6) who previously fought in the UFC and is coming from a TKO loss against Cathal Pendred at CWFC 55 – Cage Warriors Fighting Championship 55 last June. Che will surely look to regain his position as one of the Top welterweight fighters under the Cage Warriors promotion.
This, in my opinion, is Faycal’s biggest fight in his career as Che is a tough and world class opponent.A win over a veteran like Mills will surely make noise and prove a point!
Tentative Fight Card:
Welterweight: Bruno B.C. Carvalho vs. Gael Grimaud
Middleweight: Che Mills vs. Faycal Hucin
Middleweight: Abusupiyan Magomedov vs. Jack Mason
Lightweight: Paul Redmond vs. Mateusz Teodorczuk
Welterweight: Lee Caers vs. Piotr Ptasinski
Lightweight: Ryan Roddy vs. TBA
Featherweight: Shaj Haque vs. Paul Marin
