Mohammad Fakhreddine fell ill during his weight cut for his fight against Carl Booth at Brave 8: The Rise of Champions and has been deemed unable to compete. However, “Bomber” will still have the opportunity to become Brave’s inaugural Welterweight world champion as he agreed to face Guiana’s Carlston Harris instead.

At approximately 3 AM local time, hours before the official weigh-ins, Lebanon’s Fakhreddine fell ill and had to be taken into emergency care. There, he took IV fluids, which disqualified him from the bout for being prohibited according to the rules of CABMMA (Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission), the organization that oversees Brave 8: The Rise of Champions.

Carl Booth, who had no problems with his weight cut, tipped the scales officially at 168,8 lbs (76,5 kg.), and agreed to take on Carlston Harris, who was originally scheduled to fight Rodrigo Cavalheiro on the main card and weighed in at 169.5 lbs (76,9 kg.). “Bomber” had a simple message for his new opponent.

“It’s a different fight, isn’t it? Carlston brings in a new set of problems. But I’ll tell him this: different problems, same solution. I’m going for the knockout”, the Bomber stated.

Brave Combat Federation is still searching for an opponent for Cavalheiro and will make an announcement in that regard within this Friday.
