It was just another Georges Badawil-ish performance when he entered the cage at Cedar Fighting Championship 1 this past April. Rocking the mohawk, Bardawil completely dominated the first round when he faced Dhruv Chaudhary in the first installement of Cedar FC, Lebanon.
It wasn’t until half way through the second stanza, when all the pressure payed-off and Bardawil managed to tear off a well-timed armbar for the win. In an action packed fight night, Bardawil cemented himself as a legit bantamweight, currently riding a 3 fight win streak, all by finishes.
With all the drama before and after Cedar Fighting Championship, we still managed to catch up with this prospect to get his views on his latest fight, and another issue which has been the “talk of the town” for a while.
“I thought the fight will definitely end in the first round, but this guy was so ******* stubborn! I felt like the referee was going to step in at any second. I wanted to end the fight via TKO, that’s why I didn’t go for the choke when I had the chance.”
If you watch the full fight again you’ll witness exactly what kind of fighter Chaudhary is But here’s a clip that shows you the kind of dominance Chaudhary incurred in the first round of this bounce. The event has not yet been aired on TV, but footage of the armbar will surely be all over the place once published.
“His arm is very flexible, I had to really snatch that armbar, even pull it behind my amrpit to make him tap.”
With the altercation that are now clear between Tristar Gym Lebanon and Desert Force promotion, the chances of seeing Bardawil staredown against Nawras Abzakh can only happen at Cedar FC. This fight has been hyped ever since the Desert Force bantamweight division came to life , with these 2 prospects standing out on every occasion.
Nawras had a fight less than 2 weeks before Bardawil’s, he fought Ahmed Makki to a unanimous decision at Desert Force 22. A not-so-impressed Bardawil had something to say about this:
“I was not impressed at all by his performance, that’s not a number 1 contender in my opinion. Everyone saw how dominant I was against Makki, Nawras was barely did his job. I doubt I’ll ever fight in Desert Force again, but if Nawras comes to Cedar FC, the fight will not go the distance I can promise you that.”
