Desert Force Lightweight Champion Haider Rasheed will put his grappling chops to the test in a Copa Podio grand prix tournament in Rio.
The third season of Copa Podio is jam-packed with new features and one in particular for those who think that a jiu-jitsu fight cannot be as exciting as MMA.
A new jiu-jitsu contest, without Gi and no time limit, with a win only possible through submission, will bring to heads two MMA stars during the interval of the Lightweight Grand Prix which will take place on the 10th of May, 2014 in Rio de Janeiro.
This special fight already has the confirmed participation of black belt Haider Rasheed, from Jordan, current lightweight champion in Desert Force, the largest MMA event in the Middle East.
The Copa Podio of Jiu-Jitsu is a prestigious professional tournament that gathers fighters specially invited to this event. The event composes a sporting spectacle structure with the excitement of holding combats among high-performance fighters. The format of the competition is of a Grand Prix (GP) divided into three phases, totalizing 24 combats with approximately 4 hours. Among the GP matches, there are special matches disputed by fighters from different categories.
