Originally scheduled to face Edson Barbossa at UFC 162, John “The Bull” Makdessi had to pull out due to injury.
He is back now on UFC 165 (headlined by Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson) and will face the young Brazilian veteran Renee Forte.
John Makdessi will be looking to add a third win to his streak which would bring his UFC record to 5-2 and will hopefully pave his way to face a top 10 opponent. Makdessi has already outworked four of six opponents since joining the UFC roster in 2010!
Speaking to ArabsMMA, Makdessi said:
Simple. I got injured in Training so I had to miss my fight. My training regime is tough on the body so these things can happen. That’s how I prepare for my fights. I have my routines and work on my skills and make sure I keep learning and improving… That’s what its all about
When asked about his upcoming opponent, the Lebanese/Canadian standout said:
My next fight I’m ready for anything!
I don’t take no one lightly.
The odds will surely be in John’s favor coming into this fight. He is the more experienced fighter, has faced formidable challengers already and has none other than the legendary Firas Zahabi in his corner. With precision striking that has baffled several foes, expect “The Bull” to outpoint Forte during standing exchanges!
