KHK MMA’s James Gallagher To Make Promotional Debut at BAMMA 24

KHK MMA’s own James Gallagher, who is the most compelling upcoming Irish prospect ever since the emergence of Conor McGregor, is set to make his promotional debut at BAMMA (United Kingdom’s Ultimate Fighting championship promotion).

After an illustrious 17-fight amateur career, as well as having claimed gold in the Amateur IMMAF world championship, Gallagher was drafted as one of many other elite amateur fighters to represent KHK MMA team all over the globe. At 18 years of age, Gallagher won the world championship, which in turn provided him with the perfect transition into the professional ranks.

With incomparable support and empowerment from H.H Shaikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Gallagher made his much awaited professional mixed martial arts (MMA) debut in Oct. 2015 defeating Denis Ahern in a first round (rear naked choke) submission. The Irishman went on to finish the year with another victory at Chaos Fighting Championship (CFC 15) submitting Declan Mc Aleena via Guillotine choke in the opening stanza (see video below).

Gallagher a.k.a “Strabanimal” (2-0) is currently getting ready for his third professional appearance were he will face Gerard Gilmore at BAMMA 24.

The event will take place Feb.27 at 3Arena, Dublin, Ireland. The main event sees Cheikh “The Animal“ Kone (13-3) defend his strap against John Phillips (18-6) in a middleweight title fight.

A third win would mark James’s 11th straight victory since joining the infamous SBG gym ran by John Kavanagh. Gallagher was taken under the wings of the highly respected coach at the age of 16, not tasting defeat since then. Kavanagh is one of the most innovative coaches in the world who finally got his recognition through the success of UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor and other up and coming Irish fighters. A great man to guide your career.
