Making his Phoenix debut, a short interview and training video was posted showing the Team Nogueira Dubai fighter preparing for his upcoming contest. In the video, Lazzez shares his emotions about Mixed Martial Arts passionately, obviously being excited about his comeback after almost 2 years. It’s refreshing to see the former Desert Force welterweight champion training hard and looking forward to bring his best before his walkout to the cage next Friday.

Mounir Lazzez:

“The closer I get to the cage, the more confidence I feel. Once the cage door closes, I feel free to express myself. Martial arts is a passion for me.”

Training in Dubai, Lazzez will fight in front of many of his teammates, friends and fans. Though it’s not the first time he fights in Dubai, what could be better for a fighter than to compete inside his comfort zone, especially after having a couple of year hiatus? That being said, and eventhough Lazzez is at an arguable advantage, he’s aware that his opponent is a durable and versatile Mixed Martial Artist who is able to offer all kinds of problems. Nevertheless, Lazzez is confident of his the ability of finishing fights, and, come on… With a highlight reel like that, full of the blasting knockout finishes that he has, who can argue?

Mounir Lazzez:

“It’s a good opportunity for me to fight in the main event here in the Dubai World Trade Center. I’m fighting Christophe Van Dijck on December the 22nd. He’s a tough guy and a well-rounded fighter. I hope he’s ready because I’m ready and I promise that this fight will not go to distance.”
