ArabsMMA was pleased to receive Palestinian Ossama “Oss” Khaled, purple belt under Ulpiano Malachias Gracie Barra Westchase in Houston, TX. Born in Abu Dhabi and currently living in the states, Khaled decided to pay a visit to Lebanon last week meeting up with our own Zahi Ephrem, visiting MMA and BJJ gyms, catching up with some family, and celebrating his birthday as well!

I decided to make this trip to Lebanon after hearing so much about the level of MMA and BJJ that’s rapidly growing in Lebanon. I was talking with the founder of ArabsMMA Mr. Zahi Ephrem about BJJ in Lebanon and he mentioned there was some legit purple belts teaching in different schools in the country and invited me to make the trip and train with them. Not to mention Coach Ricardo from team Tristar who is also a Gracie Barra guy. I was pretty excited about training with them because its one big family and they were all so welcoming and some of the nicest guys I have ever met. I was impressed with the level of the guys training in Lebanon because even though most of them are lower belts but you can tell they’re hungry to learn and that’s what you need to build a strong Jiu Jitsu teams. The level in MMA is high in the middle east region. I also have family who I haven’t seen in a very long time, and this was the perfect opportunity for me to meet them.
