2016 was the biggest year for the sport of MMA in recent memory. With the UFC’s $4 billion sale and the rise of Bellator, the past 12 months were record-setting for MMA across the world. And on this side of the globe, regional promotions for the world’s fastest-growing sport have enjoyed unprecedented success.
It’s hard to recall a more important period of time in MMA in the Middle East & North Africa than 2016 with three new great promotions making their debut. This is good news for fighters, as they have more legitimate options and places to fight where they get the treatment and exposure they deserve.
