Eight fighters from five different weight categories have been selected to represent Team Bahrain at the inaugural Amateur IMMAF World Championships this July in the United States.
The Amateur Bahrain MMA team has been announced for the 2016 IMMAF World Championships of Amateur MMA following multiple try-outs and championships inside and outside Bahrain which have taken place over the past few months.
The 2016 IMMAF Amateur World Championships will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada from 5-12 July at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The tournament will run for a week with each weight division as a single elimination tournament. All contestants will participate in a maximum of one match per day over the course of the 5 days of competition. The international event follows IMMAF Rules of Amateur MMA in accordance with local legislation, under Amateur MMA governing body UMMAF and the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
Among the list of those competing is Hussein Maki (IMMAF European silver medalist) who will make his first run at the IMMAF Worlds. Abdulla Seena (India Open MMA Championship Gold Medalist) and Ali Ibrahimi who will be returning to Las Vegas following participations in the 2015 IMMAF World Championships.
