Okay, so here’s an ugly news for all the Saudi Arabia MMA fans!
Desert Force lightweight challenger Abdulahad Gari has been injured and pulled from his Desert Force Co-Main event title fight against the champion Tarek Hamdi, originally scheduled for the Green Halls in Riyadh, KSA on March. 23, 2015.
ArabsMMA was first to report the change.
With Gari sidelined due to 2 breaks in foot “cuboid bone”, Desert Force 16 still has its main event showdown between Mohamad Ghorabi and Mounir Lazzez headlining the event in the most anticipated fight that night.
Saudi Arabia’s Abdulahad Gari was set to challenge the lightweight champ Tareq Hamdi in the lightweight co-main event. Gari, is one of the top contenders in the division and earned his shot at the title after 3 consecutive wins under the Desert Force Banner.
A new opponent and the lightweight title match has yet to be revealed as Gari is rumored to be replaced by Triki. However, expect those details to be confirmed later today as well as statements from Abdulahad Gari.
Total bummer.
