Abdulahad Gari Out of Desert Force 16, Mohamad Triki Lands His Title Shot

Triki will now step in as a replacement for Abdulahad Gari

Abdulahad Gari Vs Tareq Hamdi was scheduled for the co-main event of Desert Force 16, with Gari set to challenge the lightweight champ Tareq Hamdi. With only 5 days for the event, Gari sustained a foot injury that had him pull out of the event.

On that same card, the number 1 candidate for a title shot, Mohammad Triki, was set to face Meshaal Al Khuzeem. Yet, some last minute changes might reform Triki’s career.

Triki will now step in as a replacement for Abdulahad Gari for the lightweight championship against the current champion Tareq Hamdi in a fight that should have happened before after three consecutive wins for the Moroccan from Rebels Team.

Triki the made his professional debut at Desert Force when he defeated the more experienced Ahmed Al Boussairy in Bahrain. He then came back to finish Mahmoud Hassan early in the first round in what seemed to be disputable decision. However, Triki’s latest performance against Saba settled the score and destroyed the doubts of many who have diminished his win because of the controversy!

Desert Force 16 will be headlined by a welterweight showdown between Mohamad Ghorabi and Mounir Lazzez headlining in the most anticipated fight that night.

Make your way to Green Halls, Riyadh on March 23!
