Additional fights added to the inaugural UFC Saudi Arabia

The UFC Fight Night 238 fight card is coming together nicely with additional bouts being announced. The event takes place on March 2, 2024, at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This also will be UFC’s promotional debut in the country.

Mohammad Yahya vs. Brendon Marotte

Yahya is a product of the Middle East’s MMA scene. His nickname “The UAE Warrior” says it all. A veteran of such promotions as Desert Foce, Bellator, and the aforementioned UAE Warriors presents a 12 – 4 record. His last fight took place at UFC 294, where he suffered a decision loss to Trevor Peak.

Brendon Marotte shares a few similarities with his opponent. Just like him, the American fighter harnessed his skill on the regional circuit and was beaten in his UFC debut, stacking up an 8 – 2 record. At Fight Night 230 he was stopped in the very first round by Terrance McKinney.

Jairzinho Rozenstruik vs. Shamil Gaziev

Jarizinho Rozenstruik has a MMA record of 13 – 5 and has won only two out of his last five fights. In his last fight, he was submitted by Jailton Amleida with a Rear Naked Choke in the very first round.

He will take on the undefeated Shamil Gaziev, who sports an unblemished professional MMA record of 12 straight wins. Most recently the Lebanon fighters disposed of Martin Buday at UFC 296 in the second round.

Javid Basharat vs. Aiemann Zahabi

Javid Bashrat is another undefeated fighter, with a 14 – 0 MMA record. However, in his last fight against Victor Henry, the Afghan fighter kicked his opponent in the groin, which led to the fight being declared as a no-contest.

His opponent is the brother of a renowned coach, Frias Zahab, Aiemann Zahabi. The Canadian rides a three-fight winning streak.

Joel Alvarez vs. L’udovit Klein

Alvarez has a 20 – 3 MMA record and was successful in his efforts against Marc Diakiese, whom he submitted with a D’arce Choke.

L’udovit Klein has a 20-4-1 record. The Slovak Republik fighter has won three out of his last four fights. The only exception was a draw against Jai Herbert at UFC 286.

Vinicius Oliveira vs. Yanis Ghemmouri

Vinicius Oliveira, a standout from Season 7 of Dana White’s Contender Series with a 19-3 MMA record and making his first appearance in the UFC, will face Yanis Ghemmouri (12-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) in his first UFC match.

Moreover, Oliveira, 28, from Brazil, is known as “LokDog” and has gained recognition in various regional circuits globally for his impressive finishes and dynamic fighting approach. His talents were highlighted on a global stage in September when he decisively defeated Victor Madrigal, earning his spot in the UFC. Previously, Oliveira has held the title of bantamweight champion in the UAE Warriors.

Ghemmouri, also 28 and hailing from France by way of Algeria, is preparing for his second UFC fight following a defeat against William Gomis in September. During this bout, Ghemmouri was knocked out in the third round by a kick, which led to some controversy among spectators who thought the kick landed in the groin area rather than the body. However, Gomis was ultimately declared the winner.

Eryk Anders vs. Jamie Pickett

Vinicius Oliveira vs. Yanis Ghemmouri

Joel Alvarez vs. Ludovit Klein
