Lightweight contender Kareem-Abdul Al-Selwady is hoping for a homecoming for his next Brave Combat Federation bout as the Jordanian looks to put his skills on display in front of his compatriots at Brave 10: The Kingdom Rises, set for March 2nd, at the Prince Hamzah Sports Hall in Amman.
Coming off the biggest win of his MMA career against Brazilian Erick “Índio Brabo”, Al-Selwady has hailed the Jordanian fans as the best in the world and recalls the experience of fighting in front of his home crowd.
“I fought in Jordan for the last time in 2015, and the place was literally shaking as I made the walk. The Jordanian fans are the best in the world, and this is going to be the best-ever Brave show, guaranteed. Jordanian fans are the most passionate about the sport and I’ll be honored to be a part of it”, said the Lightweight fighter.
With three wins inside the Brave cage in as many bouts, Al-Selwady looks to be closing in on a title shot against newly-crowned divisional champion Ottman Azaitar.
However, the Jordanian phenom has another fighter on his radar for Brave 10. Englishman Leary has been called out by a host of big names after his career-changing victory over Daniele Scatizzi at Brave 9, and Al-Selwady wants to test himself against the veteran.
“Charlie had a great performance at Brave 9, and he always brings fireworks to his fights. Together, we can put on a tremendous show for the Jordanian fans and that’s who I’d like to face next”.
Brave 10: The Kingdom Rises marks the promotion’s first show in Jordan, home to some of Brave’s most decorated fighters, and the sixth country to host a Brave Combat Federation event, after Bahrain, Brazil, the United Arab Emirates, India, Kazakhstan, and Mexico.
