Another welterweight fight has been added to the Phoenix 6 Abu Dhabi fight card with Lebanon’s Ahmed “Shadow” Labban taking on promotional new comer Ahmed Saeb from Iraq. This fight is primarily an interesting match-up between two very different styles of strikers.
In his last fight, Ahmed Labban wanted to try his hand as a lightweight for the first time in his career. Unfortunately, it did not go well for him as he claimed that the weight cut to 70 KG influenced his usually explosive performance. Suffering his first professional loss in MMA at Phoenix 4 Dubai against Mehdi Ramezani, Labban made an oath to come back stronger than ever. Mastering a dangerously explosive kickboxing striking style that has been compared by many to the Bellator fighter Michael “Venum” Page, Labban (4-1-0) will make his 3rd appearance at Phoenix and will be taking on a striker who is of a quite different background than his own.
The former Desert Force fighter, Ahmed Saeb (3-2-0), hasn’t fought since 2016. Though he’s had a roller-coaster ride in his last couple of fights, Saeb is a technical Mixed Martial Artist who practices the devastating style of Kyokushinkai Karate. Known for his toughness and relentlessness, Saeb wants to turn the tide and return to the winning column. It will be interesting to see a potentially more developed version of the Iraqi go at it again inside the cage.
Phoenix 6 Abu Dhabi will take place on the 5th of April at Ahu Dhabi. Stay tuned for the full fight-card to be officially released soon.
