Legacy Fighting Alliance will host its 89th event at Sanford Pentagon at Sioux Falls, South Dakota on 28 August 2020. Abdul Kareem Al Selwady (10-3-0) held the lightweight championship title at Brave Combat Federation. Al Selwady claimed the lightweight title at BRAVE Combat Federation after dismantling ex-UFC fighter, Lucas “Mineiro” Martins in the very first round.
Al-Selwady was crowned the champion by Khabib Nurmagomedov while Martins was unceremoniously carried away from the cage in a stretcher. Al-Selwady will be facing Konnor Kuppe 7-4-0, 1 NC at LFA 89: Moore vs. Giannetti.
The 25-years old Palestinian fighter who trains at the Fortis MMA in Dallas, became iconic for high-intensity bouts and theatric post-victory celebrations with his father who is also his cornerman, Husam Mubarak Al-Selwady. As of late, multiple Arab fighters have chosen Fortis MMA to train including the UFC debutant – Ali Qaisi, Mohammed Fakhreddine, Hamza Kooheji, and more.
The bout is crucial for Al-Selwady who is making a return after more than 9 months in inaction. Al-Selwady who is among the biggest names in the Middle East has been recognized as one among the most promising athletes in the Arab World. The fight will be available at the UFC Fight Pass at 8 PM CT (USA).
