Legacy Fighting Alliance will host its 89th event at Sanford Pentagon at Sioux Falls, South Dakota on 28 August 2020. Abdul Kareem Al Selwady (10-3-0) held the lightweight championship title at Brave Combat Federation. Al Selwady claimed the lightweight title at BRAVE Combat Federation after dismantling ex-UFC fighter, Lucas “Mineiro” Martins in the very first round.
Al-Selwady was crowned the champion by Khabib Nurmagomedov while Martins was unceremoniously carried away from the cage in a stretcher. Al-Selwady will be facing Konnor Kuppe 7-4-0, 1 NC at LFA 89: Moore vs. Giannetti.
The 25-years old Palestinian fighter who trains at the Fortis MMA in Dallas, became iconic for high-intensity bouts and theatric post-victory celebrations with his father who is also his cornerman, Husam Mubarak Al-Selwady. As of late, multiple Arab fighters have chosen Fortis MMA to train including the UFC debutant – Ali Qaisi, Mohammed Fakhreddine, Hamza Kooheji, and more.
The bout is crucial for Al-Selwady who is making a return after more than 9 months in inaction. Al-Selwady who is among the biggest names in the Middle East has been recognized as one among the most promising athletes in the Arab World.
