Despite his latest loss, Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady has always been one of the best featherweight fighters in the Desert Force promotion and is one of the best and most hard working fighters in the Arab region.
With a professional record of 4-1, Al-Selwady never had any of his fights go to distance. Always entertaining to watch, the former Desert Force featherweight 66 Kg champion was stunned by his last opponent, Aziz Julaidan, who cane in as the underdog. Julaidan landed a big left hand out of nowhere that clipped Al-Selwady and earned Aziz the featherweight title at Desert Force 14 in KSA. Surely not what the fans had expected from the match-up, but in mixed martial arts, anything can happen!
Al-Selwady asked for a rematch that same night and did not waste a single moment as he went directly back to training after recovering. Now, it is rumored that he might appear on the Desert Force 17 fight card in Jordan. However, no official opponent has been found for him yet.
So, who could be an opponent for Al-Selwady? Could we see a rematch between him and Youssef El Hamad, who is 3-1 in his professional record with his only loss coming to Al-Selwady after a very entertaining fight from both, or can it be someone else?
Here are two names that would make a good match-up. Lois Cadet, with a professional record of 2-1, won his last fight in Desert Force against Al Academiya contestant Serge Saad. Looking very impressive, Cadet has recently fought to a KO victory in a different promotion also. Being such a well-rounded fighter, perhaps he would make a good match up in Desert Force 17?
The other name is Rami Aziz. With a professional record of 7-3, Aziz has had three fights and 2 wins inside the Desert Force cage with his latest appearance ending in a first round loss to Chabane Chaiberddra. In addition, Aziz has recently called out Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady on his social media page.
