Mansour (4-0, 3-0 Desert Force) took care of Tunisian Fighter’s Abdulrahman Dridi with a straight right and follow-up blows in Desert Force 22 which took place Monday [April 18, 2016] at King Hussein Gardens, Amman, Jordan. “Thor” brought it to a shocking conclusion 0:14 into round one, cementing his place as top contender inside the Desert Force middleweight division.

After being rescheduled three times, Al Academiya Season 3 Finale finally happened as part of the Desert Force 22 fight card. It was fun while it lasted. Dridi looked to stand and trade, a decision that proved costly, leaving him no chance to reconsider. A counter right from Mansour had Dridi collapse where he stood and was met on the ground with the finishing shots that crowned Alaa Mansour as the new Al Academiya Season three middleweight champion.

The first time this fight was scheduled was Dec 7, 2015 in Egypt. Dridi failed to show up due to visa issues and Alaa was matched with a late replacement, Ramadan Mohamed, whom he defeated via TKO in round 1. Alaa then went on to earn a decision win against Ahmed Kaddah at Desert Force 21.

Mansour, 25, has rattled off three wins and now turns his attention to the Desert Force middleweight champion Mohamed Karaki. With a previously scheduled rematch between Karaki and Elsawi in May, and Elsawi’s surprising loss that same night, Mansour could be next in line for a title shot.
