Legendary Boxing Hall of Fame broadcaster Al Bernstein talks to Fil-Am boxing star and ONE FC fighter Ana “The Hurricane” Julaton about her hugely successful cross-over into the world of MMA and her upcoming battle with Ann “Athena” Osman, who has stepped in for Irina Mazepa, on 29 August at ONE FC: REIGN OF CHAMPIONS in Dubai.
After finding success in her ONE FC debut last October, Julaton’s entry into MMA is generating growing interest as fans are curious if she would be able to duplicate her success in boxing in the ONE FC cage.
Julaton has twice held the WBA and IBO 122-pound belts and has a professional boxing record that currently stands at 13-4-1. The 33-year-old lives and trains in California, but is of Filipino descent. Known as “The Hurricane,” she made her pro boxing debut in 2007 and after winning four and drawing one of her first five bouts, Julaton was offered a shot at the WBC International Super Bantamweight Title in only her sixth fight.
Ana’s opponent Ann Osman is the first female Malaysian mixed martial artist to compete in a major mixed martial arts organization. Osman possesses wrestling skills and powerful ground and pound, making her a tough test for any opponent. She made her debut in an empathic battle last October, and has been eagerly awaiting an opportunity to get back into the ONE FC cage.
The event, which will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre on 29 August, is set to be the largest in mixed martial arts history. A historic three world championship titles will be on the line on 29 August and will feature some of the greatest mixed martial artists from all over the world. Fans can expect a historic night featuring world class and adrenaline-pumping mixed martial arts action!
