Syrian MMA fighter Besam Yousef (6-2) comes back again to the Swedish MMA scene after 2 consecutive losses in the UFC. His latest split-decision loss against Papi Abedi was a controversial one at UFC on Fuel TV 9 – Mousasi vs. Latifi last April. It was clear for most people that Yousef earned his win , but that’s what happens when you leave it to the judges! Yousef will take on UFC/Pride veteran David Bielkheden (18-12) in the Co-Main event of Super Challenge 9 taking place on November 23 in Gutenberg, Sweden.
Bielkheden who fights out of Brazilian top team started 2013 with a decision win over Diago Gonzales and will look to impress the crowd with a win over former UFC contender Besam Yousef.
Besam is 6 years younger than Bielkheden and was undefeated before competing in the UFC.He will have a 2 inch height advantage to his side which might make a difference with his superior striking.Yet David’s MMA record is huge and his experience outweigh Yousef’s by far. My money is on Yousef as he is the more athletic and will surely be looking to end his losing streak this November!
In the Main event for that evening is MMA legend Jens Pulver (27-18-1) , the first ever UFC light weight champion facing Swedish/Egyptian veteran Sami Aziz (5-3-1) in the headlining bout! “Style-wise, it’s an incredibly interesting match up. Both Sami and Jens have wrestling backgrounds and great boxing skills. Jens has his iron fists and tremendous experience and Aziz has Pharaoh “Sledgehammer” like hands ready to end a fight at any second!
