Following the week of big announcements, Brave has confirmed the arrival of another Brazilian in the promotion. The 28-year-old veteran Lucas “Mineiro” Martins signed a multi-fight deal and is set to make his debut on Brave 3: Battle in Brazil main event.
The announcement comes a few days after officially signing the exceptional Brazilian fighter Julio César Neves (18-0), alongside Brazilian knockout artist Luan “Miau” Santiago Carvalho (10-2) as part of the international talent acquisition campaign at Brave Combat Federation.
With an impressive 18-3 professional record, Lucas became a familiar name to the MMA community after fighting seven times in UFC, while bagging four wins. Currently, Mineiro, whose nickname refers to his home state Minas Gerais, is on a 3-win streak, with his last victory coming by the way of submission over Gilson Lomanto in September in his hometown in Brazil. Mineiro’s only 3 losses came inside the UFC cage, and he remains undisputed outside the big league.
Lucas opponent’s name on Brave 3 main event remains yet undisclosed. Although it’s already decided that Mineiro and his rival will compete in the featherweight division, up to 66 kg.
Brave 3: Battle in Brazil is set to take place on March 18th, in the city of Curitiba, the 8th largest in the country and main metropolis of the South region. This will be the very first international installment for Brave, which had its first two events hosted in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
